Raven, can you imagine the sick, ugly, disgusting, racist comments that would be flooding the internet were Bundy's militia Black?

Oh, goodness, I know. Or Muslim?! Egad! They entire lot would have been dead 2 weeks ago! The hypocrisy on all sides here is simply staggering. On the government for not dealing with these guys (and continuing to pretend there is no such thing as 'domestic terrorism'), and the "militia" for even daring to say they are about "freedom" when they are essentially imposing martial law on a county with no authority whatsoever!

I cannot for the life of me understand WHY we aren't doing anything! I kind of get it at first; I think they were hoping the furor would die down, the gun loons would get bored and dissipate. But it seems pretty darned clear that's not happening, and I really think the longer this goes on, the more dangerous it gets.

With full deference to the fact that I am a white male, I think the single best turn of events has been the revelation of Bundy's racist comments. When word got out about that, Fox "News" immediately ceased to be his fanboys. You know you're too extreme when even Sean Hannity doesn't want to deal with you...

True, that! I'm just amazed they hadn't (well, not really, but I wish SOMEONE had) seen it coming. His "sheriff is the only authority, I don't recognize the federal government" shtick is straight out of the white supremacist, Posse Comitatus playbook...

(Though, given Fox being Fox, I suspect even if they'd suspected his views, they wouldn't have cared until he got vocal about it; Fox seems as racist as Bundy on a good day, but maybe that's just me.... ;)

Disturbing in the extreme and after all it worked (and still works) for the IRA and the UDF.........
