Because I'm a complete geek: Better shots of the restored pens I posted before. The images I originally put up just don't show the amazing colors of the marbled resin.

I love the music background!

How did you get into pens, can I ask? It's such a unique hobby and your pens are so pretty!

You know, I'm not even sure. I suppose it probably started when I was a kid, and while cleaning out my great uncle's house, I found he had a couple fountain pens. I was enthralled, even though I didn't know how they worked (one was broken, and the other was a Sheaffer Snorkel, one of the most complicated filling systems ever designed, so I can perhaps be forgiven for that!)

Years later, I sent the Sheaffer to the company in hopes of getting it repaired, and they sent it back saying they no longer had the ability to repair it, but to please accept this other pen with their compliments. "This other" pen was a fantastic (and not cheap), Targa with a 14K nib. I gave that one as a gift, but I have an identical one I still love using.

Shortly after that, by then boyfriend (now hubby) gave me another amazing pen, my first Cross Townsend, and I started using it daily. So I guess I was hooked!

I went from ink cartridges (expensive, very few colors) to bottled inks in every color imaginable. Then I got into vintage pens, and of course from there to repairing them......

So yep, it's got me good! If you're wildly curious, I have a page with all (well, OK, most - I haven't updated in a bit) of my pens and inks, and some more ramblings about the obsession. It's here: http://www.ravenmoon.us/pens.html.

Things I need to remember:
• Asking for help is not, as it turns out, fatal.
• Laughing is easier than pulling your hair out, and doesn't have the unfortunate side effect of making you look like a plague victim.
• Even the biggest tasks can be defeated if taken a bit at a time.
• I can write a paper the night before it's due, but the results are not all they could be.
• Be thorough, but focused.
• Trust yourself.
• Honesty, always.
