My hope is that the bullshit that Trump and his minions pull will at long last wake up a portion of the population that has been sleepwalking for many decades. Maybe, as a backlash against the Trump legacy, we will finally fix too many of those things that were left unaddressed for the benefit of the top 1% and their lackeys.

Okay... I know its a thin hope, but sometimes its happened before. Maybe enough people will realize how bad it is that they will push lawmakers and politicians to address some badly broken policies.

(See, if I keep saying it, it feels like it could happen...)

Otherwise, I'm avoiding reality an awful lot these days. I can only handle so much of the negative before I implode, so I feed myself reality in drips and drops. I am a student of history, and Mussolini 2.0 is in full swing. I'm just hoping a Hitler 2.0 doesn't follow swiftly on his heels.

So-- yeah! Its freaking depressing out there right now.

Things I need to remember:
• Asking for help is not, as it turns out, fatal.
• Laughing is easier than pulling your hair out, and doesn't have the unfortunate side effect of making you look like a plague victim.
• Even the biggest tasks can be defeated if taken a bit at a time.
• I can write a paper the night before it's due, but the results are not all they could be.
• Be thorough, but focused.
• Trust yourself.
• Honesty, always.
