Lookie what I did!
I've been tinkering with my pens again... Below are two of the many fixer-upper pens I've had lying about. I sent a bunch off to Pay-It-Forward on Fountain Pen Network, and finally sat down and spent some time repairing a couple of the ones I kept. Neither are top-shelf pens, but both are lovely writers, and will doubtless get lots of use. I've done a few of these before, but nevertheless, I'm terrible tickled with the results! Here they are (the photos don't' do them justice, I may post better ones tomorrow, when I can snap them in daylight, which always works better with my camera.... Anywho, click to enlarge!

Funny story -- one of the cats decided to make claim on my favorite computer backpack I use for NaNoWriMo. I suspect they got accidentally trapped in my room while I was at work and needed to pee, saw my backpack on the floor and went "Hey!" Well, I emptied every pocket and tossed it in the washer with just a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar. Let it sit and soak for 24 hours with the occasional gentle agitate cycle. Tossed it in the dryer on uber low heat. Pulled it out yesterday and the stink was gone, but I freaked when I realized I had forgotten one itty bitty side pocket. The pocket that held my mechanical pencil and Lamy Safari Fountain Pen. Was it ruined?? I love that pen! I took a damp cloth to the nib and it started writing beautifully as if the washer and dryer never happened.
*whew!*
