I've been trying to get back to LJ lately (with mixed success; I doubt I'll ever use it or DW as much as I did 'back in the day'), but now it seems it has become a bit of a Russian police state. Lovely. So I suppose I will keep my liberal, democratic socialist, Tantrump-hating commentary here instead. Now the question is - do I delete that journal, or leave it? It sucks b/c I have a permanent account, and this one costs. Like I need another expense these days. Grrrrr.

But OK, then, here I am. :)

P.S. We need new moods! I need 'rebellious' and 'defiant,' just for starters....

P.P.S. Anyone know of any friending things? Anyone out there at all, come to think of it?

I've been here something like six years and I haven't erased my LJ yet, even though it keeps finding new and interesting ways to degrade. If everyone threw everything away, we would have no history.

Well, DW costs if you want all your icons, yeah. I just renewed my account after about a year of lapsing into "free" status.

I'm struggling with the same question of whether I want to be associated at all with LJ as it now is; whether by leaving my content there, I'm tacitly condoning the policies they've now put in place. So many people are mocking those who leave as "panicking over nothing" and "Oh, like Putin cares about your slash fic" and, well. Maybe he doesn't, but I'm still not feeling any trust for Livejournal as an entity, at all.

Edit: the lj_refugees comm usually runs "friending things" when there's a mass immigration to DW going on. I'd follow that account and look for the next one they host.

And yeah, I feel the conflict. It's not about *my* stuff per se... But it's about the principle of it. I have't really 'trusted' LJ for a while now anyway, so... meh. We'll see how it goes...
