So, plan on seeing me here a LOT more, and on LJ more or less not at all. I haven't been posting too much there lately, though I've been trying to do more of it (kinda). However, I read my f-list almost every day. Well, if LJ has their way with their latest insanity, that will be that. And in any case, LJ doesn't really deserve the attention - they have made it clear they don't care what their users want.

So, the move to DW is more or less final this time. Old habits and all, but I'll manage. I'll still crosspost for a while, but eventually, I will likely just f-lock that account, and leave a public notice directing anyone here. I hope to see all of my LJ friends here, too.

So what's up with all of you?

I don't usually post here, even though I have an account. A lot of my lj friends and communities are simply not here. So that's one reason. In some ways I wish LJ was more like DW but they have even less people. Plus I have a paid account at lj. And not here. And I loath facebook. I wish it never existed. So I have to tolerate lj's controlling and incompetent Russian owners. I resent it, because despite the numbers of Russians on lj, most of the users are still American. And I hate the poor security. Although it has gotten better.

We've just been through Sandy. Several days of I'll never forget. We had a ton of rain and wind. But I didn't lose power. My school (UMBC) has been closed two days, but I think I'll be back at work tomorrow.

Welcome back!

I don't see myself switching, as I'm only here now because of my friends and certain communities. I don't need more social media distractions to feel guilty about neglecting :p

Yep, that's pretty much me in a nutshell with school. Excellent problem though.

What is LJ trying to pull?

Same as- This recent stupidity has been the last straw and I've forgiven LJ a lot over the years as I like the people who post here. I've moved my postings to DW and will x post to here from now on.

We're already friended over there I think?

People who are upset may well wish to go and make their displeasure abundantly clear here:

Forgive me for being a little late to the conflagration, but could you point me in the direction of a good way to backup my entries so I can start preparations to find a new journalhome?

Going out with friends for dinner tonight. Been working almost 7 days a week at what was supposed to be a part time job. Family drama has died down. Ask me later over chocolate and I'll spill the beans on that situation. As for everything else, Dragon's health is tolerably good for a guy on dialysis, mine is worse, had some suicides in the family/f-lists, helped out with some charities, still seeking full-time employ, still Pagan, miss seeing you, and will look you up on DW. **hugs**

Things I need to remember:
• Asking for help is not, as it turns out, fatal.
• Laughing is easier than pulling your hair out, and doesn't have the unfortunate side effect of making you look like a plague victim.
• Even the biggest tasks can be defeated if taken a bit at a time.
• I can write a paper the night before it's due, but the results are not all they could be.
• Be thorough, but focused.
• Trust yourself.
• Honesty, always.
